I'm Total Self-taught
I never went to school.
Last art teacher I had was Mrs. Gilmore in 5th grade who slapped my wrist with a ruler for drawing lollipop trees which were trees without twiggy branches.
It may have been the inception of rebellion.
Art that heals and transforms and leave the “me” off cause it’s for everyone!
I was interested in organic architecture before it was even a thing. My senior thesis model had a structure sunk in the Earth, with a channeling corridor between the ground and exterior wall to help cool the walls down. Not a straight line anywhere. Even with a south-facing sun room, I still got a failing grade. In the next round, to graduate, I created a little box, all ticky-tacky, so it blended in with all the other ticky-tacky boxes lined up in a row, and I passed. To be a rebel, you must first die inside so that you can remove yourself from the norms that affected you to begin with.
